He wants a "really good pen" for a groom's gift?
I told my fiance I want to get him a groom's gift...I asked if he wanted a new TV, or something for his computer...a ring or a watch...something like that.

Yesterday he informed me "I just thought of something you can get me for a wedding gift. I want a really good pen. It is something I would use many times every day, and I'd always have it with me, so I would think of you."

He is the manager of a computer help desk, so he always has a pen with him...but what in the world would be considered a "Good" one? For me, I just use your standard Bic pens...but what is a quality pen set? What company should I look at?

This would not be a fountain pen...it would need to be a ballpoint, refillable, excellent quality....and maybe engravable or personalizable?

Anyone have any ideas?

They did a whole Seinfeld episode on this pen... guys love these thing and they have different models. I love the fact it writes underwater and upside down. Keeps guy entertained for hours.
Parker makes very nice high quality pens and does custom engraving.
Someone gave me an engraved Cross pen many years ago and I loved it. I think most of them can be engraved.

I think something along the lines of these links may be what he has in mind:

Start by looking at these, and see what sort of pen or pen set will fit your budget and his preference.

do really lovely pens. The have diamond, gold etc etc. Really classy. Anyone who knows pens will recognise class when they see this. The do mainly do fountain, but they seem to have a good selection! Check it out!
A co-worker was showing us his Cross pen last week. He has been using this pen for around 30 years and still loves it. If he has a problem with it (30 years of use will wear out any pen), he simply mails it to them and it comes back fixed.
you can goto a place like things remembered.. they sell really nice pens there and can engrave them with monogram initials or full names.. so maybe you could put the date of your wedding on it or something like that for him!!

Get him a Mont Blanc. They are the gold standard in writing pens. You can get them in ballpoint pens that are refillable and in a variety of looks. Some of them are engravable as well!

They also make watches and some nice gift sets you can look into.
I love my Cross pen.

Mont Blanc is a very good/expensive pen.
Cross pens come in all price ranges, and are lovely. Other names to consider are Parker and Montblanc.
Cross or Mont Blanc are the ways to go. I received a really nice gold Cross pen and pencil set when I graduated from college nearly 25 years ago. I still treasure them.

I guess it's a guy thing... like a Rolex watch.
