Word for those silver trays?
I am sure there is a better word than "silver tray," probably French, for those silver trays butlers used to bring a letter to the Master or Mistress of a mansion in the Victorian era

Any word or suggestion?

Silver Salver.

salver - a tray, esp. one used for serving food or beverages.

[Alteration of French salve, from Spanish salva, tasting of food to detect poison, salver, from salvar, to save, taste food to detect poison, from Late Latin salvāre, to save; see salvage.]
I do believe they are called a silver "salver".
A platter.
